Hi All,
I'm attempting to operate BioEra software from BioEra version 4.119 and run a design that was built with Bioera 4.152 version. I see a warning message I'm getting prior to proceeding: "The design was created in higher BioEra version '4.152'. Are you sure you want to load and covert it?" . Is there a risk to clicking okay and converting the 4.119 version software on my computer with the 4.152 BioEra version design I'm trying to open? Lastly, can I upgrade to the latest BioEra 4.184 version just by downloading from the BioEra website and clicking "update", or are there additional subscriptions requirements required?

Thanks!
Mike

If you convert a design to older version, there is a risk that some settings used in higher version will be permanently lost. So the design may not work exactly the same as in the version if was created in. But the risk is only to the design file, so you might want to do a backup of your original design, then convert it and see if it works, and revert back if not.

If you bought BioEra more than 1 year ago (version 4.119 was released more than 1 year ago), then you need to purchase a license extension in order to upgrade to the latest version:

Hi Jarek,
Is there a simple, clean process to revert a file back to its original program version, or would you simply: copy the file in a separate folder and then import the new design into your older edition of BioEra; rename it and save it with the new name, then see if this newly named converted design still functions fully as desired, and if not, delete that converted design file and go back to your original program version?
I apologies for all of the questions, just trying to figure some of the basics of the learning curve,
Thanks!

There is no better way. Just do it as you described, make a copy of the design (along with all nested designs) and then restore those files back.

Thanks for the heads-up, Jarek, it's like digital forensics for me, just want to make sure I do it the cleanest way!
Thanks again!
