This error code isn't directly generated in BioEra. It happens when something crashes, like a driver or a library, and Windows stops BioEra because of that.

I don't remember anything like that related to XDF reading. A faulty driver would be much more likely cause. Are you able to run BioEra examples? One of those is SessionReport which reads from XDF file.

This is what I get, I am not sure what faulty driver can make this to happen?

This looks like a very typical crash. It can be caused by many things in the Windows system, including drivers or third party installed libraries like video codecs.

Try to isolate it. See if it happens with simple things like BioEra examples.

Jarek
I have used several computers and moved my design folder into them to test if the problem of invalid exit code 1 is bc of windows. Unfortunately the error happened in two other computers as well. I doubt it is something unrelated to Bioera. I must fix the problem as soon as possible.

As I said, try to isolate it. This error is too general to tell anything about the cause.

I found the cause of the problem Jarek, it is the element "DialogFile" . I replaced it with CustomIntractor and now my designs work perfectly.
what weird is for me is that these designs had been working for a long time with no issue (at least a year) since I used the element DialogFile, and now out of the blue in some of computers with no change in the systems this problem appeared . I have no idea why. do u have any suggestion or I have to replace all my DialogFile with CustomInteractors?

The DialogFile is used for browsing to a file, but it also reads all disk drives including network drives. I noticed, that if a network drive is not available, it may hang for a minute or even longer (not just BioEra but any app which accesses disk drives). I did not see a crash because of that, but I imagine the system might be killing that operation if it stays for too long. Just an idea, maybe you can check if your mapped network drives are all fully operational, or try to unmap those which are not used.

CustomInteractor only reads a specific file, it doesn't open all drives, so this may be why it works.

No , I severely doubt that a network drive is the problem, because in none of my systems, I have a mapped network drives.

I think this problem must be somehow related to disk drives (of any type, real or virtual). Since this is the only difference I can think of between DialogFile and CustomInteractor.

Maybe check any drive letter except the primary system.
