I have designs made on a higher resolution monitor (desktop) that I now want to edit on my laptop. The design window is too small to hold the arrangement of elements. I can't scroll far enough to see them all. To access all of them I (hack) select all, move them to the side so the off-canvas elements come on screen, deselect and rearrange the edge elements, select all again and move everything back to where it started.

I've tried the Element > Move all to visible area and it's a mess because it stacks the elements that were offscreen on top of each other.

Using this select-all/rearrange hack I can move elements around, but I find that I need even more space than is allocated -- Elements that were off-screen to the right and were moved to the bottom are now inaccessible because I can't scroll down enough.

Do I have any better options? Is the canvas size for elements something I can manually set? It seems that I must have had a larger canvas size established when I was on a larger monitor that is being updated as I access the design on a computer with a smaller monitor.

Can scrolling and/or window area sizing be revised in an upcoming software update?

You can set the size of the Designer window in System Settings. On Designer tab change this: Designer container size to something more than [1200|1000] set by default.
